Breast Cancer vs Barack Obama

By now all of you know that I am engaged in my own private war against the ravages of breast cancer. The fight takes up most of my minutes these days and I must confess, it has put many of my political activities at the rear of the parade. Nevertheless, I still have my website and something of an obligation to communicate with my readers/friends/family and my opponents, of course. So I try to keep things moving.

Today, just short of a week since my second (and hopefully final) surgery wherein additional lymph nodes as well as my left (and last) breast were removed, I was attempting to update my site and give things there an exciting new spark. I had hoped to feature some information of use to families like mine who find themselves faced with three of the six scariest words in any human language, “And it’s cancer.” (The first three chillers being:  “I found a lump.”) October, after all, is breast cancer awareness month and as an unexpected and unwilling new initiate to the “sisterhood” I thought I should do something appropriate. Nevertheless, I can’t bring myself to lose political focus.

My email box is continually overflowing with clever jokes, interesting artwork and more than a few “definitive” reports on matters concerning the Presidential race. There is never a shortage of material, but there is so little time.  Election Day is just two weeks away and, I fear that the Barack Obama story has not been told in its entirety. So, this week, Obama retains center stage on my website.

My cancer will be around long after the next President of the United States is elected. My cancer will likely be a factor in my life for long years after the next president has been relegated to the history books. Once you have the pink plague, even after you’ve vanquished it, the specter of its return is never really gone. I have lots of time to fight that fight.  America is in far greater danger than am I.

In the aforementioned email box this week, I found a link to Fox News’ Sean Hannity’s special about Barack Obama’s radical associations and friendships. It terrified me.

Many of my dearest friends are card carrying Democrats. Many of them have a truce with me. We agree to disagree politically. That truce notwithstanding, I implore you to take the time to watch this special.  I know. You will bristle up and tell me that you’re sick of the endless hype about the Reverend Jeremiah Wright and Bill “Bomber” Ayers, let me beg you to hold your horses. There are scores of other strange and dangerous links between Obama and others that simply cannot be dismissed.  Now, you may certainly call me and my right leaning ideas silly. You may call me a bigot and a racist, if you wish. You may take away my birthday. (Yes. Please. Take away my birthday!) But please take a few minutes to review the information on this six part special. It will take only a little of your time. If you can watch and listen and STILL not have doubts, then bless you. Go to the polls and cast your ballot for the “change” Obama promises our nation. But please dare to look and listen first. PLEASE.

Now is not a good time for me to be afraid but I am sick with fear. I am not nearly so frightened of the disease that threatens my body as I am of what may besiege this nation if Barack Obama is elected president. I humbly ask you to check it out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCz6dPpP9v8&feature=related
